Each of these animals is hand carved from recycled flip flops! 

Our friends in East Africa are passionate about the oceans and marine wildlife and have become conservationists by collecting flip flops from beaches and roadsides in Mombasa, Kenya, a gorgeous coastal town. The flip flops are carefully cleaned, stacked, then glued together in various colorways. Different artists hand craft these materials into small fanciful likenesses of animals, fish, porcupines or whatever their imaginations lead them to create.
